Flow Validation
Validation is a deterministic check of the current specification. It does not read the future, call a model, run a Script, persist Memory, or execute the Flow.
What validation checks
- supported block types and configuration value types;
- required source, Script, and database fields;
- unique block IDs and known upstream references;
- dependency cycles;
- valid connection endpoints; and
- balanced If/Else/Endif and Loop/Loop End/Break structure.
Some runtime conditions cannot be proven at validation time: a file can move, a provider can become unreachable, a credential can expire, and a Script can fail. Treat valid as “structurally eligible to run,” not “guaranteed to succeed.”
Fix a finding
Select the named block or connection, correct the exact field or topology issue, and let Canvas validate the new draft. If Chat proposes a change, candidate validation is still only evaluation of that candidate. Nothing changes until you explicitly request and approve apply.
